This is...the pair of shoes I would sleep in

I am all about the comfort factor. I always have been. I've tried to do glam, polished and sophistocated, but I just cant pull it off. I feel grown-up and put-together when I put on make-up (eyeliner, eye shadow and lipgloss) to go to work.

I own maybe thirty pairs of shoes, but wear about 5 of them. And thats the total for summer and winter.

These are my absolute must-have shoes: Blundstones. Or, as they've fondly known by regular wearers, Blunnies. I think this is about my tenth pair; I killed 4 pairs during the fieldwork for my PhD, but this pair has lasted longer (they're clearly not Public Service suitable!).

If I could have just one pair of shoes, this would be them. I would sleep in them any day - and have. Many times. But those stories aren't suitable for this timeslot!

Are the stories suitable for lunch time???

Sounds like good stories hiding in those shoes. I don't wear half of my shoes anymore for just the reason you stated. I go for comfort every time. And the lovely high heeled ankle boots that look so cute are murder on my feet so I leave them in the closet and wear my tried and true (and very comfortable) danskos.

Oooh, I love those!! I'm like you--comfort over anything else, thank you! I'd never heard of those before. They remind me of my pair of brown Doc Marten boots that I wore out with field work! (undergrad, though...no PhD here) I wonder if I can get those here....?

The Blundstone factory, which has been here in The Apple Isle for a bazillion years, has recently closed. They are moving offshore. My friend thinks people would rather pay more and keep them here. I think so too. Glad you like them!!! Bit rough on the sheets though!!!

Would it surprise you to know that I have a pair of blunnies? Not quite as worn as yours though...

They look like the shoes my (Landcare Coordinator) brother wears all the time - tough as old boots, hey? :)

I have a pair of these too. I havent worn them in a long time, but they definitely will never lose their spot in my cupboard.

Adore my Blunnie - wore them all the time when a potter and now they're my garden boots! Yay Blunnies (but Boo Blunnies for moving to Thailand!)

OOOOO comfort....I love comfort. Just checked out the site and they have several places in the Ottawa area where I can go check them out. Thanks for the intro to these Aussie gems.

Those look well-loved and comfortable. My fallback shoes are my black work Danskos, they're comfortable and sadly, pretty battered. A great pair of shoes is irreplaceable.

Gotta ask - have you ever put nugget on them? Just wondering. H.I. nuggets his Docs but I don't know if one can do this to blunnies and still have street cred.

That's hilarious - they look just like mine. I love my Blundies (is what I refer to them as) and I wear them nearly every weekend, i.e. when I'm not work boots/shoes.
